Recently, I had a conversation with some friends about a lack of work in progress blog posts. So here is my "I'm working on it"
Malabrigo yarn. Yes, knitters of the world. yum yum yum. My new favorite place nearby, Finch sewing studio, is carrying yarn now. Good yarn. Stuff I could only order before and pay shipping on, while wondering what the color will really look like when it gets here. I've got a hat for fall on the needles there because I wear a slouchy hat so often (it's my dirty mom hat, yo!....sorry. been watching too much Breaking Bad) that I need a new one every now and then to change it up.
I took a random shot of the table by the couch because it had a pretty good summary of things going on here. Learning about educating my kids with some Project based Homeschooling. Working on reading The Lord Of the Rings on my kindle. Staying awake with some coffee. Changing diapers. And my knitting.
Also, I got my first welt pocket sewn on the yet to be finished Art Museum Trousers from the latest patterns from Oliver and S. It turned out marvelously. Liesl is a good teacher. These things will probably not get finished till kids clothes week though with the pace of my sewing right now. When you have to fix whatever your three year old did to your serger every time you go to work at it......
I also decided to add a kneepad detail to the trousers (these are for Violet. she needs pants for fall). I'm making them out of a pair of jeans my husband handed down to me because of a big hole.
And also working on getting some relief for my colicky yet ever so sweet and happy boy. Bye bye dairy for me. You don't even know.....I love my butter. Ugh......But that little face! Little Hawthorne, you give me heart squeezes.
Yay, you did it! An in progress post! Love it, your in progress projects, and that little Hawthorne face. Hope he stops colicking soon. :P
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see those trousers! and what a cutie-face you've got on your hands!
ReplyDeleteI love all your works in progress! Try Earth Balance for a butter substitute. Worked well in baking and cooking and even eating on bread. The only thing I never found a good substitution for is cheese. I ate soft goat cheese and Trader Joe's has a goat cheddar that is good. The fake cheese is just awful..
ReplyDeletelove love seeing my book in your beautiful photo! :)
