fresh play dough + making words

I don't have any projects to share right now because I have mostly been busy taking care of the crazy little people, trying to paint windowsills and cabinets, and get something done for a special shorts sew along this summer. We had a busy weekend visiting with Tim's family who was in town for his nephew's high school graduation. Unfortunately, I was so busy visiting and keeping track of my kids while everyone was at our house that I didn't get any pictures of anyone. oops. ,.    kl8nu9i,÷¬÷…hn

Violet got her hands on my keyboard while I was reading The Cat In The Hat to Clover. It looks like a pretty complex equation...

I whipped up a fresh batch of play dough for the kids yesterday. There is a bag of flour in the pantry that's old and hasn't been used in ages, so I won't be cooking with it. It's been quite a while since I cooked anything with flour, honestly. Ever since I started making the almond cookies from Nourishing Traditions, I've been obsessing over them and haven't needed to make anything else. And lately I have just been buying Ezekiel bread.

the spools also make good path rolling tools.

Notice the "snow-woman" on the left. She is anatomically correct...Clover said she needed num nums for her baby. Lol.

My mom recently sent a couple of Melissa and Doug educational toys for the kids. Since I've been trying to do preschool activities with Clover, she wanted to contribute to the cause. The toys are great. There is this cool wooden clock with puzzle pieces for the numbers and working arms. Violet likes that one because of the puzzle pieces.

Clover is obsessing over this see and spell word board toy. I think this will be a million times more effective in teaching her than me sitting with her and using cards to teach her letters and phonics. That was not penetrating. At all. Lol. I am a very visual and practical learner, so the theoretical is often lost on me. She is probably the same way.

hey, there's the edge of that old navy maternity t-shirt that I still wear because I like the stripes.....

I feel like there was something else I wanted to say, but now I can't remember what it was. Not enough sleep. Not enough tea.
