this was my gift to Tim for Valentine's day this year - a new lunch bag. it's made out of denim and plaid shirting. I didn't get any pictures of the inside, but it's just lined with the shirting too. I didn't use a pattern or tutorial - just the knowledge I've compiled from having made him two previous bags. sandwiching the lining, flap, and shell all together at once and stitching it almost turned out the way I wanted ..... all except the flap ending up on the wrong side. Lol! oooh well. It fastens on the opposite side than I planned, but it still works.
the pocket is lined in the shirting. It's to hold the note I put in his lunch every day. My notes used to be these grand romantic statements/perverted comments, or sometimes funny Office quotes. These days I'm usually so tired when I'm making his lunch at 5:20am that occasionally it just says something like "I have to pee" or "*yawn*".....but it's the thought that counts, right? ....
his first bag attached with buttons. I got lazy and switched to velcro with the last one.
this is where the scraps of shirting came from
this is my first lunch bag that I made back in the end of 2009. one of my first sewing projects! I had no idea what I was doing, an no pattern or tutorial to help. It took me forever just to figure out how to put it together, and it was pored and obsessed over, messed up repeatedly, cried on, ripped apart, and put back together. I still think it's cute though ^_^
