mailbox surprise

Getting fun mail is still thrilling isn't it? Realizing that the mailman or UPS guy is coming to your door with a package. Opening the mailbox to find a hand addressed envelope to you sandwiched in the bills and junk. To be honest, getting the email with an invite to a fabric swap was a bit of a mailbox surprise in itself.

Hosted by Compagnie M (Belgium) and Do Guincho (Portugal), the mailbox surprise is a fabric swap between people from all over the world, with the hopes of gifting someone with fabric they love and may no have been able to find where they live. None of the participants know where their package is coming from, only who they are sending to. I've already gotten my mystery assignment and am super excited!!

We also shared some of our fabric preferences with the hosts, which got passed on to our secret sender.

It goes a bit further though....once we get the fabric we'll be making something out of our imported gift and sharing it in a blog post. As I find and send my fabric I'll be showing a sneak peek, as well as sharing when I freak out over my package arriving ^_^

So now I've got to jump on it and find something special for......somebody on the list up there.
