Obviously Halloween wasn't just the perfect time to make a "bone shirt" for my daughter. Fashionably late? Or late with fashion? I offered to make one of these for Violet before Halloween because I knew she would love it, and she declined. Not until seeing Kristin's skeleton fairy costume did she demand one for herself
So here we are in what the culture is declaring Christmas season, based on the decor, and I'm making morbid threads. We saw a baby at church in bone PJ's and my husband turned to me with a cute smirk and said "Why would anyone buy them when they could just MAKE them?" ha ha. very funny, sir.
During bedtime the other night I found this little minifig hat that sparked a quest to find parts in our stash for a little Heisenberg. Sorry Aunt Karen. I know you're reading, and I know you hate Breaking Bad. Haha. But it was too fun to pass up. We couldn't find the perfect face, so I tried two on.
Khaki pants. Barrel of fat stacks. And some blue. Boom. Afterwards I was kicking myself for not including the lego camper van.
Today I thought: We absolutely must paint some letters for no particular reason.
C is for Clover, of course. Couldn't get the 4 year old to fill in the crossword though.
We found the most glorious sea of leaves on Monday. So deep. So crunchy. We spent a chunk of time working on enjoying Fall.
With Hawthorne strapped into the Boba, it wasn't the most comfortable way to enjoy laying in the leaves, but I couldn't resist. It was way too tempting to throw my body into the fluffy crunchies.
Speaking of Hawthorne, I've been working on helping this guy's tummy troubles. Happily I can report that he's had almost no horrible screaming episodes lately, and his throwing up has really reduced to a more normal amount of spitting up. The initial purge of dairy, gluten, peanuts, cruciferous veg, onions, and tomatoes made the screaming stop. My more recent abandonment of eggs helped reduce the throwing up. You don't even know how happy I am that skipping the coffee didn't help anything.
So now I basically don't eat anything, but hey....still got my coffee, wine, and beer. We'll survive.
And Hawthorne is a super happy, smiling, charming, laughing little man.
Did some pattern testing for a friend. ^_^ can't see anything but this peek on Violet though.
Gave both girls some bobs after letting Violet's go for way too long. Clover insisted on matching her sister. Then we went straight outside to read library books in the yard.
Life is moving slow lately. Just walking the razor's edge between enjoying the crazy little kid years, and going completely crazy from the chaos and lack of sleep.
Things are brewing though. Fun things!
skeleton shirts are in style ALL YEAR ROUND. can't wait to see it all done!
