Easter here was weird. It started off with us debating on whether we could take the kids to church, because Clover had been really sick the day before and still wasn't back to normal on Sunday morning. She spent all of Saturday completely miserable after starting the day off with symptoms that could only be described like "excessive whinyness and lethargy". Then she developed a fever and fell asleep several times throughout the day.
On Sunday morning the fever was gone and I decided to try hastily getting the kids ready for our 8am service at church. Then Clover began languishing with misery in Tim's lap after I let her have a couple of chocolate chips from her Easter basket, and peed on her daddy's leg. We decided she wasn't ready for church.

I have no idea if it had anything to do with her sudden recovery, but I gave Clover a glass of some Kids Calm multivitamin and she was like a new person.
So we beat cheeks out the door to get some egg hunting in before it rained. So different from the past couple of years where we've been scorched in the heat on Easter. I feel like I should not have to get sunburned while watching my kids look for eggs in spring.
Our little disaster child is still sporting injuries from two separate incidents.
Violet was SUPER excited for days about getting jellybeans for Easter, which made it all the more surprising when she opted to transport them around the living room in her mouth and spit them out on our furniture, rather than actually eat them.
One thing that really really makes me feel uncomfortable is stickiness. Sticky things on my hands makes me run to the nearest water source to get rid of it, and seeing my kids with sticky hands isn't much better. I've got to be armed and ready with wipes whenever I give them something that results in sticky hands and faces. Blech.....Jellybean faces.

We dipped into our stash of playmobil people (Christmas craigslist buy) to stuff into the bigger eggs.
This was Violet's Easter dress. WAS.....before I decided I didn't like the colors together as much as I thought I would and proceeded to rip out all three layers of stitching to separate the bodice from the skirt. Now it's waiting for me to pair the two pieces with different fabrics. Good thing Violet forgot/didn't care about getting an Easter dress. She got paint all over the first dress I put on her before we even hunted eggs in the morning, so I guess it's a good thing she didn't have anything special on.
Gorgeous Spring made an appearance this morning as we did our grocery shopping (For some reason, there is a special brand of magic for me when the pleasures of Whole Foods and good weather converge), so we picnicked on the patch of scraggly plant life in front of our house when we got home.
This little person is feeling 100% herself again.
