last week I did a little bit of thrifting. for the most part I just struggled to keep my kids from melting down, but I did manage to find a few things. some are unphotographed, like the awesome old school fisher price family van. but here are two of my finds
Toms in a size 5, which I thought would fit Violet, but it turns out that I can't get the left one to stay on her foot. sigh...I have really terrible luck trying to find anything besides her Robeez (those things are the best) that work. We got her the smallest size rubber boots we could find but they are still big on her. Plus, her legs are so used to light and flexible shoes that she has to learn to walk in something clunkier
I also found these awesome pottery barn kids chairs for 4$ each (3 of them). They are a pretty wood and look sculptural.
I also finished this little doll for a friend's baby shower. Due to Violet sleepiness, I had to leave before the gifts got opened, so I hope she liked it!
sometimes this little girl is pretty cute
I also made some nourishing traditions nut butter. It's got "crispy almonds", which are raw almonds that you soak in a salt water bath and then dry slowly at 150 degrees until they are crispy but still raw. Also mixed in is coconut oil, sea salt, and 2 tablespoons of raw honey. I processed everything in the cuisinart till it was nice and smooth. Boy is this stuff tasty too.
Of course, I made it for Clover's sandwiches, and she won't touch it.
These cookies are a big hit though, and are also from Nourishing Traditions. I made these with the crispy almonds as well, which taste so good with the bit of lemon zest in the recipe. They also have some sucanat, sea salt, coconut oil, and a base of arrowroot flour. I've never cooked with arrowroot before. Omg. They are just so good. I'm obsessed with these cookies. Next time I might add shredded coconut to the recipe, and I might try doing them in bar form with dark chocolate on top. Or I can mix some cocoa powder into the recipe. Or dried cranberries. Yum Yum Yum!!!

oooo, that is an awesome score on those chairs!!! And an adorable little doll, and girl, of course!! :)
