wrenly ruched skirt

this is the first project I've done with the Valori Wells fabric my parents sent me. and I love it! after seeing THIS Craftiness Is Not Optional dress I decided to incorporate the ribbon ruching into something asap. 

I had gotten this twill tape for making tags with, but now it's all used up on this skirt...oh well. it was worth it.

along with the fabrics, my parents also got these little cards that have some dimensions and instructions for making a flounce skirt. I was trying to do the math and follow it to make the one in the picture, but I was starting to get confused (I know, how hard could it be? a few rectangles sewn together) and things were going wrong. so in the end I just winged it and it turned out fine ^_^

Clover insists it's a ballerina tutu and has been prancing around in it.
