goings on

things we've been doing around here:

I've been doing art with Clover during Violet's nap. Ink drawings and acrylic painting. Today she painted a bird house. Yesterday she was drawing her family and dragons. I read an entire book about seabirds to her yesterday while she drew mamas, daddys, cocos , and biowets. 

I made this ice cream the day that fresh, raw cream arrived from my farmer. it's made with my nourishing traditions recipe, so low in sugar but still really tasty. It's got maple syrup from Purcellville for the sweetener, and I added lemon zest. omg.....so good. 

 

I also successfully lacto fermented some beets. yum. fizzy! Trader Joe's was out of my dang kimchi, which just about ruined my monday, but at least I have something else in the fridge that bubbles.

 

I suppose I ought to go do some parenting now.
