I have a sickness

originally I had resolved not to get any more sewing patterns for kids clothes for a while, since I have ones already that I can use and I don't really need to complicate things further for myself. plus, I'm literally out of makeup. And I need sandals for summertime, as does Violet. But Figgy's came along and led me into temptation. So I hit the preorder 10%off sale for the new patterns and am awaiting the May (10?) release of them.

I'm actually glad that I have to wait until then to get the patterns, because we are in the middle of the floor renovation, and I need to get the walls re painted in the kitchen and living room before the floors go down. Right now I'm on the line for the dining area in the kitchen since it's ripped up, but next will be the living room and that's a much bigger job. First I have to get a color nailed down, which is proving to be a daunting task.

I want grey. Grey is a weird color. Most of my choices don't really look grey in our house. They look like green, or blue, or too beige. Maybe I need to get a pinterest board started with shades of grey. I thought I had found one I liked but the Mr. says it's too dark. There are like, a million little jars of sample paint laying around here and I feel no closer to making a decision. Our house has very minimal lighting in it, and it doesn't get a lot of filtered light coming in from the windows because of how the townhouses are situated. And being a townhouse, there are two sides that have absolutely no light. I'm about to just go get some white paint and call it good. There is a light icy blue color that I am kind of liking. It looked like grey on the paint chip. On our walls....blue. Yarg.

Anyway, these beauties are what made me cave and buy more patterns in a fit of lunacy. The only redeeming factor is that I managed to restrain myself to two out of the three new patterns. When I opened up the Figgy's blog post with the pictures of the new stuff, I literally made some sort of a sound. It was like an exhalation but with sounds of delight and shock. Yep. I have a sickness.

  1. Oh, I so want/need that romper pattern...but, seeing that i just bought the new Oliver and S croquet dress pattern and a bunch of fabric...it was best that i held off :( And, I totally agree with you...gray is a very difficult color to pick...we painted our bedroom gray and i swear we looked at every single gray paint chip in home depot and took like two weeks to decide!
