I don't really know what is going on today, but so far things seem to be going right....
Clover agreed to eat some breakfast without complaining, which is remarkable. Not only that, but she voluntarily returned a while later and asked to eat her leftovers. When she finished that she announced "I'm hungry. I need some more food." This is not my daughter.
I got a batch of the almond lemon cookies that I'm obsessed with all made, and unlike yesterday I remembered to get my pot roast started.
Veggie Tales enabled me to get a shower. Hurrah! Homeless hair mom no more! There's nothing like letting your kids vegetate in front of a show about vegetables.
I finished Clover' Easter basket and she really likes it, judging by her reaction. Still have Violet's left to get done, and a hem to finish on Clover's Easter dress, and then we are very close to being ready. To be photographed soon.
Clover went pee in her potty and Violet ran up to congratulate her saying "yaaay Coco! You did it!"
My kids let me dress them without the seemingly mandatory running away, thrashing of bodies, and warbling whining.
I got to finish my coffee today without having it maliciously attacked by either of my children.
Friends that I haven't seen in a while came to visit me......
So far it's been a good day! Of course, there have been some bang ups and hang ups like always. Clover wouldn't eat her lunch and is screaming in her bedroom. My kids have collapsed into a snarling blur of skinny flying fists and gnashing teeth.

In other news, I managed to make a second trip to G Street Fabrics to use a Livingsocial deal I had bought a while ago, and I came out with something this time....
I got this gorgeous, if difficult to photograph, orange shirting to make a Bali Bliss for Violet. There are 2 yards and I think it only takes 1, so it will become something else as well. I also got some more twill tape for making tags in my clothes. The first thing I came across to wrap it around was a wine cork. lol

This is the Bali Bliss:
The other fabric I got at G Street is 1.5 yards of this really neat organic cotton knit. It's hard to tell without feeling it, but it has a really interesting texture. My eye was immediately drawn to it when I was looking at the table of white garment bolts. I never could have afforded to buy it without a 50% discount so this was a bit of a splurge. Honestly, I'm not positive about what I want to use it for. My first thought is summer raglan tees for the girls with some sort of embellishment (fabric paint? applique?).
Unfortunately, I am feeling gorgeous fabric paralysis over this one. You know, where you are enamored of it and terrified of doing anything with it.
Happy Friday!!

YAY for good days!! And, that cotton looks lovely! And, do you go to the G Street in Rockville? That is where we go, but not often b/c I feel like it's almost impossible for me to concentrate on what i am buying/doing when i'm there with both of the kids running around through the bolts of fabric! But, those groupon/living social things are awesome!! I totally flaked and missed the last one :( and their sales table is awesome too, if you are lucky!
ReplyDeleteI went to the store in Centreville. The first time I went with my coupon I tried to let Clover be free to walk around with me while Violet was in the stroller, but I had to go back to the car to get the double stroller. Lol. Clover was way too crazy and defiant. One day I would love to be able to go in there and pick through the sale table to find some good deals. It's weird not knowing what you are buying though!
