I haven't uploaded the pictures I took of the girls hunting for eggs, which, really....those are the money shots. But I do have some pictures to share of their baskets and my girls all ready for church on Easter morning. We went to an 8am service because they woke up so early. We knew they were headed for an early grumpy time, and our clock was ticking. It was definitely the right decision.
Clover was pretty stoked on her Easter basket/bag. It's felt with some scraps I dragged from my exiled stash. They got shoved up to the closet because I was tired of looking at my fabric monster in our kitchen where I do all my sewing. Actually, ALL of my fabric got shoved in the closet for the most part. Of course, Violet sleeps in our room and I tend to need fabric when she is sleeping, but there is really no ideal situation to be had.
I was just making the bags up as I went, and ended up deciding to make one side of Clover's bag a button closure. That way she had easier access to her stuff if she wanted to undo the strap. Violet's bag is located at the end of this post because things uploaded out of order and I'm feeling far too lazy to do anything about it right now. *yawn*
My little ladies, enjoying some fresh air before heading off to church. It was so peaceful outside in the morning. Most of the neighborhood was probably still sleeping or just waking up. The air was cool and still and the birds were chirping.
My intention was to have new saltwater sandals for both of them on Easter, but for various reasons, neither of them had new shoes. So old nasty croc sandals and the faithful Robeez were the standins.
They are wearing Maggie Mae dresses, which are the second incarnation of this dress I've made with the Shwin and Shwin pattern. I love the clean lines and flexibility to mix and match fabrics. We have the lisette poplin and dark denim on these, with a white and yellow striped knit cotton lining inside from a thrifted shirt.
Had to get some pictures of the handsome daddy with his little girls.
these shots are terrible, but I wanted to capture the girls playing in their new tent. this thing is awesome! thanks grandma!
here is violet's mini bag. I like the gathered stripes. just wish I hadn't situated them right on the crease of the bag across from the seam. that's what happens when you are rushing to finish at 9:30pm.
