noodlehead 241 tote bag

I did it! The washi/pinwheel/thatched bag is done and I love it.
My lovely model is helping me out. She kept running away, until I barked at her "you're not being a good project runway model!". The strap is pretty long since I wanted to wear it crossed over my chest. That way when I am carrying two kids, I wont have my strap falling down.

It would be fun to find a home dec weight fabric or a great canvas print to make one of these out of.

Clover is engrossed in my magnetic snap. It might be more cost effective to find some magnets that I can just sew into the bag. ONE snap costs $4.99 at Joanns. Bring your coupons!

this is what the inside looks like. the main body is lined in pinwheels, and it has one pocket.

"gosh mom, these's nothing in here to steal from you!"

the exterior pockets are pinwheels.

I can't wait to fill it up with all of my mom crap!

  1. awesome!! i love it :) oh, and if you buy magnetic snaps in the "craft" purse-making area, you can get four for that price. that's right... i don't know why they sell that one in the notions area for so darn much??

  2. Thanks for the tip! I couldn't believe it when I saw the price. I am totally going to make another 241. Add that to my never ending, ever evolving list of things to do. Lol.

  4. I love your bag! It reminds me of the one Rachael made. And if you plan on making a lot of bags, you might check out Etsy for purse making supplies. I ordered something like 40 magnetic closures from TantilizingStitches for roughly $15 shipped!

    1. Ha, Rachael was my inspiration of course! ^_^
Thanks for the tip on the purse making supplies. That is definitely a better deal than the horrible 4.99$ pricetag on one. After making one bag, it's kind of tempting to search for more fabric combos to put together, but it's not like I need a million bags. Might be time to start trying to pawn them off on my friends. Haha. Pay for the fabric and I will make you a bag!

    2. I've already given away 3 bags, but I have 6 more just lying around that I don't think I will ever use. I just enjoy making them. I've been saying I'm going to open an etsy shop and sell my overflow items, but I just haven't made the time to do it!
I have made two bags that I decided to keep for myself. I'll be blogging about the latest one today or tomorrow (once I get some decent pictures of it).
