the girls love this sheep. it sits outside a little tea/chocolate shop in Leesburg and when we walk by it they both go crazy. she really is intriguing. the hat. the bow. the facial expression, which reads "I am a serious lady, in a ridiculous situation". I made sure we swung by it again on our Leesburg outing this week. the older lady who works there (owns it?) is really kind and comes out to coo at the girls.
originally this was going to be "thrifty Friday", but after making a trip to the mall yesterday, I didn't much feel like shopping. Clover was quite disturbed by our skipping the thrift store though. as she realized that we were headed back to the car to leave Leesburg, and we hadn't yet gone thrifting, she started flipping out in the stroller repeating "gotothethriftstore mama! gotothethriftstore mama!"
we went to King street coffee, which ended up being a failure/success. success being that my coffee was delicious (two shots with a half pump of mocha syrup....with straight shots like that I KNOW if my coffee is good or bad). failure being that I had to leave the stroller outside since the shop is really cute and located in an old house. there is a porch with steps and the place is really small, so the stroller wasn't going to happen. both girls were in the Phil and Ted double today, so I unloaded them and carried Violet/held Clover's hand.
Clover started throwing fits as soon as we went in there and I wouldn't let her just touch and throw whatever she wanted in the trash. so I had a fistfull of her jacket as she flopped, suspended from my grip, and made ridiculous, whiny, little person noises. another meltdown as we attempted to sit at a table like civilized human beings while I did my best to enjoy my coffee, all while Violet was kicking around in my right arm, and Clover embarrassed me from the chair opposite myself. short coffee break...
I saw this cute heart decal in the window of an escrow shop.
then I caught the reflection of some of the city buildings in the window
this is Clover's happy disposition after our fun morning. this was a meltdown over my using a ramp instead of dumping the stroller down the stairs....or something. all I know is that I swung around the stairs to use the ramp and she kept screaming "down the stairs!! up the stairs!! down the stairs!! up the stairs!!". and then matters were made worse when I bent down to talk to her and she KICKED ME IN THE FACE. with her BOOTS. which prompted a highly public, highly swift, spanking.
"Mommy hates me!"
she feels....so much. you know, I can relate.
hey, a happy face!
Clover heard the clicking of the shutter in my camera and started freaking over my taking pictures behind her. "No! Stop it! No clicking!" lol/WTFiswrongwithmychild.
In other news, I completed a project, but alas, I cannot share because my dear Valentine reads my blog. I'm working on finishing a doll for Clover's birthday. and after that, I will be using the Shwin and Shwin Maggie Mae tunic/dress pattern to make Clover a dress for the big day. I'll be appliqueing some balloons to it since we are going with a balloon theme for the party, in honor of "Up", one of our favorite movies, which happens to have a better story in the first 10 minutes than most hollywood films manage to make in 1.5 hours.
